苗栗縣泰安鄉2年前發生民宅火警，在2樓午睡的龔姓男子不幸葬身火窟，檢警調查，為3位女童玩火釀災，龔男家屬提出賠償，苗栗地院判決女童家長須共同賠償613萬7000餘元。

2017年2月中旬，龔姓男子在會館承租的員工宿舍2樓睡午覺，不料樓下卻發生火警，火舌迅速竄燒龔男逃避不及，身體大面積燒傷合併吸入性灼傷、熱休克死亡。檢警調查，起火處附近有1只打火機，並透過火災調查鑑定結果、調閱附近監視器影像，疑為房東的4歲女兒與鄰居4歲、3歲女童在1樓房間玩火燃燒衛生紙丟致床鋪釀災，問訊後3名女童皆表示有使用打火機燒衛生紙與棉被等行為。

















據調查，龔男家庭為中低收入戶，當時與妻子共同撫養19、16、12、7歲的4名子女，龔男喪身火窟後，家中頓失經濟支柱，家屬便向3名女童及家長提出侵權行為損害賠償民事訴訟，求償扶養費與撫慰金。判決書指出，由於3位女童年僅3、4歲，雖稚齡兒童可免責，但案發當下未有成年人在場，顯見法定代理人疏於保護、監督，應負損害賠償責任，判決3位女童的家長需連帶賠償龔妻與4名子女共同613萬7000多元，全案可上訴。
