美國總統川普揚言將把價值2000億美元的大陸產品關稅，從10%大幅提高到25%，且未來不排除擴大制裁，這突如其來的舉動震驚全球。專家警告，歐盟也要當心，川普可能同樣對他們提高關稅。
美國財經媒體《CNBC》報導，陸美貿易戰延燒，另外值得關注的是，美國同時和歐盟、日本等也有貿易上的問題。歐洲國際政經研究中心(ECIPE)負責人Fredrik Erixon警告，川普也很有可能突然對歐盟祭出關稅制裁。
Fredrik Erixon強調，川普行事作風向來是說到做到，陸美貿易戰進入延長賽，歐盟應該將之視為警訊。回顧川普曾在2018年，威脅要對歐盟進口美國的汽車開徵20%關稅，雖然之後雙方同意展開協商，汽車關稅暫時擱置，不過川普仍不時拋出汽車關稅議題威脅歐盟。
Fredrik Erixon認為，川普想調高大陸商品關稅，陸美貿易戰延長將不利於歐盟，由於戰火擴大將導致全球經濟下滑，這意味著，世界各國對歐盟產品的需求量也會跟著降低。
