在科幻題材的電影中，有時可能會看到一直無限循環的道路或樓梯，主角不停地經過同一個地方，永遠都沒辦法到達目的地。而在日本某處，有女網友就分享了一個極其類似的樓梯，原本只是想要到二樓而已，但卻完全不知道該從哪邊走才能到達。

這名網友「しまさお」在推特上分享了這個讓人覺得崩潰的樓梯，原本和哥哥已經喝了一些酒，準備再到新瀉車站附近某棟大樓二樓的居酒屋續攤，但沒想到這間大樓樓梯的設計簡直比酒精還要更讓人頭暈，由於哥哥是初次到訪，並不清楚樓梯的構造，因此怎麼樣都到不了要去的二樓。從照片中也可以看到右方有一個向上的樓梯，但在它的左邊還有一個較小型的上樓樓梯，這讓PO主忍不住直呼根本就像是「錯視藝術」的作品。

但事後兩人也終於破解了這個「鬼打牆樓梯」，如果直接走右邊的樓梯就會直達三樓，要去二樓的話必須先從左邊走一小段下樓樓梯，再進到裡面走一開始看到的那個上樓樓梯。據推主表示，有很多人就是因為看到樓梯如此錯綜複雜而放棄上樓，但其實大樓也有設置電梯，不想要傷腦筋的話還是直接搭電梯比較實在。
