大陸科技巨頭華為始創人任正非近日接受美媒CNBC訪問，表示對出售華為5G晶片予蘋果公司等競爭對手，抱持開放態度。他又形容蘋果始創人賈伯斯為「超級巨人」。對於美國引渡其女兒、華為首席財務官孟晚舟一案，他認為孟晚舟被捕是一個「鍛鍊機會」，跌倒受傷是成為英雄的必經階段，「她凱旋而歸時將是英雄」。而孟是否中美貿易戰中的「人質」，任正非稱「也許是」。

CNBC周一（15日）播出任正非接受訪問的片段，對於出售旗下5G晶片予矽谷的智慧型手機競爭對手。他說，「在這一方面，我們對蘋果持開放態度。」

華為自行研發的5G晶片一直只供自家手機使用，若真售予蘋果等競爭對手，相信會對晶片供應商高通（Qualcomm）和英特爾（ Intel）帶來挑戰，這也意味華為在智財權方面的重大策略轉變。

蘋果之前採用高通晶片，後來改用英特爾。但目前蘋果又與高通的官司打得難分難解。而iPhone尚未推出支援5G的機型，分析認為蘋果對華為的5G晶片可能會有興趣。

任正非也讚許賈柏斯為「超級巨人」，因為他創造了一個移動網路時代。若稱賈柏斯為「巨人」，只會是保守的說法。

談到女兒孟晚舟，任正非用華為手機展示給記者一張照片，指向上頭前蘇聯在第二次世界大戰中一架被擊中卻依舊飛行的戰機說道：「孟晚舟現在就是這樣的處境，她凱旋而歸時將是英雄，我想故事很可能就是這樣的結局」。

任正非表示，他的女兒孟晚舟成長未遇到多少挫折：「跌倒受傷未嘗不是好事，在古時英雄都是艱苦中成長的。我認為這次（被捕）事件對她是一件好事。」「所以我會讓她面對這次挑戰，相信如此可以讓她成長，為未來應付更大的難關作準備。」
