陸委會主委陳明通一席追求溫飽是「豬狗禽獸」說，舉國譁然！不僅傷透百姓的心，更打臉總統蔡英文。台中市長盧秀燕籲道歉，藍委更召開《怒！求溫飽是禽獸？陳明通下台！》記者會齊轟陳下台！陳也終於在中午約10點30召開記者會，其中兩度鞠躬道歉。

被網友戲封為「全國不分區議員」的王浩宇，2日在臉書PO文要到高雄參選立委，決定投入左營、楠梓艱困選區，隨後秒刪貼文。高市觀光局長潘恒旭今（3）日說，若他真的願意來高雄選，形同幫國民黨立委「八仙過海」8席全上，但事後證實是愚人節玩笑話，大家也不需要當真。

高雄巿議會開議，2日民進黨巿議員邱俊憲、簡煥宗、李柏毅、高閔琳與何權峰等人提出6大問質詢高雄巿長韓國瑜「訪中經貿團是不是統戰團」？韓國瑜則回答說，腦袋喜歡戴帽子，但不戴紅帽子，還說綠議員是自己嚇自己。
