因為近來華人遊客增多，為了增進生意，有許多店家或當地人都會學習一些中文，而華人遊客在逛街時，尤其是男遊客，很可能就會被長相漂亮清秀的美女詢問：「要不要吃生菜？」，很多人都會因為感到好奇而點頭答應，這時這些美女就會將遊客帶到茶樓裡，接著便表示自己要去拿生菜而暫時離開，但通常她們離開後就不會再回來了，而茶樓裡的服務生便會替客人端上茶水和一些小甜點，等到客人因為等太久準備離開而去結帳時，才會發現自己掉進了陷阱當中，這些茶水和小甜點的價格都非常昂貴。
其實這些越南女孩和茶樓具有合作關係，當女孩們帶回了客人，那麼她就可以從中獲得一些傭金，帶回的人越多，當然賺到的錢也會越多，因此她們會利用遊客的好奇心而吸引他們進入茶樓，以幫助自己賺錢。但事實上，到各個國家旅遊都可能會遇到類似的情形，因此出國旅遊時一定要隨時提高警戒心，注意人身與錢財的安全，千萬不要輕易上當受騙。
