先前傳出做出危害球隊行為而遭禁賽1場的勇士替補前鋒喬丹貝爾，禁賽理由竟是他把飯店消費記到勇士助教麥克布朗的帳上，沒想到引發軒然大波，貝爾30日出面道歉，「我判斷錯了，我以為只是開玩笑，但實際上卻不是！」
根據勇士內部人士透露，這不是貝爾第1次做這種無厘頭的事情，主因是上季還屬菜鳥的貝爾，曾被不少隊友偷偷「賴帳」在自己飯店房間名下，貝爾只是單純對於隊友與教練做出回擊，沒想到這種行為卻被外界嚴重放大檢視。
其實貝爾在勇士內部還蠻受到歡迎的，持續在場上展現拚勁，積極爭取自己的上場時間，這些他的隊友都看在眼裡，所以當這次風波爆發之後，包含柯瑞、杜蘭特、李文斯頓等人都曾公開替他護航，也讓貝爾感到相當感動與窩心。
「知道隊友站在你這邊感覺真好，」貝爾說，「當人們聽到跟事實有著巨大差異的故事，他們就會對你妖魔化，也開始胡思亂想，因此當隊友支持你，跟你開開玩笑是好的，你知道到了最後，一切會真相大白，他們也會替你辯解。」
