前美國在台協會理事主席卜睿哲（Richard　Bush）表示，美國從來不說什麼是台灣理想的候選人，但實際上確有理想的標準，就是美國喜歡一個其政策與美國基本利益一致的台灣總統，那就是和平穩定。



























卜睿哲5月1日在主持慶祝布魯金斯學會東北亞政策研究中心成立20週年研討會後，接受中評社記者專訪時做此表示。中評社記者問，在美國看來，什麼樣的人是下一任台灣領導人理想的候選人？

















卜睿哲回應，「我們從來不說什麼是理想的候選人，好吧，其實我們某種程度上有。我們喜歡一個其政策與美國基本利益一致的台灣總統，那就是和平穩定。」

















報導說，卜睿哲表示，1999年12月他被美國政府派去台北傳達這種訊息，台灣的總統是由公眾來挑選，但對於美國來說重要的是他的政策。

















卜睿哲接著表示，如果台海兩岸能夠發現方式來拓寬和深化合作，他們自己能夠想辦法貢獻於和平穩定，對美國來說就太好了。
